Maruti Suzuki India Limited sold a total of 82,234 units in July 2012. This includes 11,210 units for export. The company had sold a total of 75,300 units in July 2011. The Mini segment consisting of the M800, Alto, A-Star and WagonR, Maruti Suzuki recorded a drop in sales of 23.7pc from 38028 units in July last year to 28998 units in July 2012. Fortunately in the C segment of utility vehicles that included Gypsy, Ertiga and the Grand Vitara, the company recorded a whopping 1036pc increase in sales in July from 642 units to 7294 units. This was primarily because of the Ertiga sales. Models that showed a decrease in sales included the SX4 (70.4pc drop) from 2303 units to 679 units, the Kizashi (93pc drop) from 32 to a mere 2. The Swift, Estilo and Ritz continued their upward climb from 9099 units to 15759 units i.e. 73.2pc. The Dzire stole the show for Maruti with a 277pc increase from 3021 units to 11413 units.
